Union Tribune: FBI child-prostitution roundup snares over 600

WASHINGTON – More than 600 adults have been arrested and 47 children were rescued in a three-day roundup targeting people who force children into prostitution.

The FBI said the roundup by federal, state and local law enforcement took place in 29 cities, adding that the raids dismantled 12 large-scale prostitution operations run through call services, truck stops casinos and Web sites.

The SA Vision began in 1989 when the SA founder started a program in Alberta, Canada, including three front-line houses, a day treatment program, pre-employment training, childcare and long-term affordable housing. The SA founder and team, considering the Calgary pilot project’s next step of growth, founded the SA Foundation (Servants Anonymous) – Canada in Calgary, Alberta, in 1995, for the sole purpose of fundraising on the pilot project’s behalf and for developing related business ventures. Prostituted vs. Trafficked

Some would have us believe that prostitution and trafficking are two separate animals, that one is uglier than the other, that one is more deserving of assistance than the other, that one is by choice and the other by force. This supposition is not only unfair; it is dangerous. Life is rarely so cut and dried; rather it is often a mix of things at times leaving the picture somewhat cloudy. This is certainly the case in this modern day Madonna – whore complex. Let’s look at the facts:

The U.S. Department of State has created a photo gallery of images of human trafficking.

The Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (G/TIP) assigned a U.S. photographer, Kay Chernush, to take these photos in India, Thailand, Italy, and Hong Kong in 2005. They are available for use with the credit:
